PIRATES OF DEEP-STORIES OF SQUID & OCTOPUS 1917

No longer for sale  but it has been offered before

http://cgi.ebay.com/PIRATES-DEEP-ST...d=link&campid=5338967513&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

In researching whether or not to purchase this, I came across this 1934 article that used it heavily as a reference (hopefully there is more to read :biggrin2:). It references a list of octopuses found on the California coast and not one is a name I recognize. Some of the descriptions sound more like squid and one (Polypus himaculatus) may be a bimac. The large octopus described (Polypus hongkongensis) does not sound like the GPO but is a known synonym for Octopus dofleini.
