Hello. I am new and have been reading up on all news reguarding keeping an octopus. And have a few (stupid, beginners) questions:

I am looking at getting an o. mercatoris (I know someone who just had hatchlings...octopets)

1) He said that the mom came from Florida. Is it safe to assume he classified it properly? He also called it a common gulf dwarf.
2) What is the recommended temperature?
3) Is a 27 gallon going to be ok? Or should I go bigger?

I appreciate any and all help available! Thanks for your time. RIE:wink:

Welcome RIE! Please have a look at our Cephalopod Care articles. They're on the navigation menu at the top of the screen, on the left. You'll find a lot of useful information there regarding ceph-keeping guidelines and best practices.
