Well, animals do have to excrete uric acids somehow..."peeing" may not be the correct term, for instance, reptiles put out excess acids as a paste...which does smell quite terrible...makes for quite a scent marker.

They expel waste through their syphon and through their gills while respiring...

fish, for example, excrete 90% of their ammonia through their gills and not the urine :)
