Also nag them!!! We require volunteers to be over 16, but we've had one or two younger because they were very keen, seemed mature on interview and were prepared to put in the time! We even had an eleven year old once (although with this one we required a parent to come along!!). You never know, if you bug them enough they may just take you early! How far off eighteen are you?
