I'm about to set my tank up ready to house my next octopus. Before I do so, I want to get corals setup (obviously ones that are known to be safe, I have the lists and relevant threads handy).
First step is buying a proper light for corals. I came across the ReefBreeders Photon series, which seem fantastic for the price and have rave reviews.

I was talking with the owner, and he is willing to make a light with deep red lights in place of moonlights. These units can be programmed, so I can have a sunrise-sunset cycle during the day, and then at night have red lights automatically come on...allowing us to see the octopus (and around the apartment) without disturbing it.
I would like the input of the community...does this seem like a good idea, or a bad idea? It seems like a pretty good idea to me, but want to make sure I'm not missing any downsides.
