Hmm, it depends on size, but I understand that if the beak can fit through, so goes the rest of it. Sounds risky... did you decide on this yet?
 
How large is a "young bimac"? A hatching would almost definitely be able to squeeze through. If the animal's mantle size is about the area of a quarter than you should be okay.
