My roommate bought it for me as a Christmas gift. It has some pretty good interpretations of many of Lovecraft's monsters and some images based on the various card or board games, all from different artists. Definitely worth a browse if you see it in a book store.
cool. Kawaguchi always does neat stuff, but I didn't know about this project. Aside from being big into garish colors, I always like his organic-art-technology stuff, and he often has a marine invertebrate theme.
It sounds like he's hoping to learn about early animals from this, too, which would be pretty cool... I know one of his students had a poster at SIGGRAPH a few years ago about simulating and animating jellyfish...
This isn't strictly Cthulhu oriented -- I did this image today, I am digging it. It is in progress -- I want to have a crab-shaped launch emerging from mouth, a shipwreck on ocean floor, and a tentacle coming in from outside frame...
