Residents of a town in Canada listed the body of a 40-foot Sperm whale carcass on the online auction site eBay.

The dynamite removal attempt got mentioned in the original articles about the city's plight so the unfortunate 1970 attempt in Oregon has not been forgotten (and likely not tried since).
