I have some sand from a previous tank (still dry). its .1 to .5 mm in diameter , or at least thats what it says on the package. It says "Nature's Ocean Marine White Sand Premium Marine Substrate " on the side. Is that ok to use?

second question
Is there any type of gravel,sand,rock... not to use

I'm not sure what substrate's not good but the sand that you currently have can't be too bad since it says marine substrate. But give it wash before you add it.
