I went w/ Japanese Flying Squid since the source SEEMS to have come from Japan -- is there a reason for your hunch? Or just a hunch...

I would say the color pattern... atleast what little I can see looks similar to O. bartramii.
I did some reading that indicates japan does fish this species... at least they did. I cannot say if they do today still
