Octopus sights

I was wondering if anyone knows of a place where I could spot an octopus in CA. I live in Concord(about an hour from San Fran), I just got my certifaction, so no hard dives(no deeper than 60ft).I went to Monterey Bay once, is that a good place? The closer to home the better...
