Asa here, just found my first Missouri cephalopods, now out for more. Meantime, enjoy:

This is hilarious and wonderful. Will the empty spaces be filled??
To maintain the coiling parameter scheme, the other two spots would have to be filled by species that coil only laterally but not at all ventrally or dorsally. And I'm not aware of any mollusks that do this :\ Maybe someone here can say if that's what spirorbids or some forams do or what microconchids are understood as having done.
