Any readers live in North Dakota?
At the North Dakota Heritage Center at Bismarck an incredibly rare fossil of a Late Cretaceous giant squid gladius is being prepped for display. This probably belonged to a twelve foot squid that lived 80 million years ago in the shallow Western Interior Seaway.
A few details are available here though there is no picture.
The pen will probably resemble these on display at the Museum of Geology at the University of Kansas of the contemporary giant Niobrarateuthis.
