article: shrimp farm regulations and impact

I usually consider shrimp farming to be a good thing, since it reduces things like bottom trawling and bycatch, but it sounds like there's some serious habitat destruction issues, too. I know this isn't directly ceph-related, but shrimp and habitat seem pretty relevant for our octo-friends...

Wasn't Cthulhu 77 talking about a shrimp farm in Arizona a while back? I'd like to know more about that.

Aquaculture is a great step in lessening the pressure on wild stocks. But it has to be dealt with as carefully and with as much science as fisheries managment does, if not more. Similar problems have exsited in salmon farms for years. I would be interested in learning more about domestic shimp farms as well, and how environmentally friendly or not they are.

The shrimp from my site https://www.shrimpstuff.com/ comes from a shrimp farm in nevada (SeaWater Express). There are not many folks who can do this successfully and cleanly.
