Amalga Harbor dive, Christmas Eve 2008 - Juneau Alaska

• Divers Dave Mitchell and Phil Selleck, Jr. dove in the icy water off Amalga Harbor, about 25 miles north of Juneau AK the afternoon of 12/24/08. The first minute of the dive shows a sea lion encounter, but after 1:20 minutes into the video, a fairly large GPO comes out of its den to check out Dave. "I was attacked" claimed Dave, but judge for yourself. The rest of the time Dave and Phil try to entice the octopus out of its den with small tanner crabs found nearby but without any luck.

Incredible! However, under no circumstances would you find me in water with ice floating at the surface!
