I totally agree with forest and bird that the catch of sea lions is unsustainable and unacceptable but there is also an issue with the squid catch too. They say the catch was down this year possibly due to lower abundance of squid and low price, I rather think the low abundance has a lot to do with it and that heavy fishing pressure has played it's part. My samples came from the industry and some 90% were immature! that's GOT to have an effect!
Save the sea lions .....sure.......but the squid need protection too!
