Can keeping two octopuses in one tank but with a separating somewhat transparent wall (tiny wholes in plastic wall) cause problems? Two octopuses from two different vendors.
(The wall is stable and they may not be able to rip it down)
Can this easily lead to sickness?

I can only remember one attempt at placing two octos in one tank with a divider (different species) and the results were abysmal. The octos can sense each other. An aggressive animal will attempt to get to the other side, a shy animal will hid all the time and possibly die from stress.

That being said, there have been numerous successes with dwarfs (O. mercatoris ONLY) that were raised together (siblings) from hatchlings doing well in a single tank (no barrier), mating and producing viable offspring.
