fwiw, I found it was least expensive to fly into Tampa Bay, then take the hour or so drive with a rental to Sarasota. The airport in Sarasota is quite small, so not many direct flights, etc.

Indeed, checking this week, it was certainly possible to fly all the way to Sarasota, but the flight options were... ugly. They were also about 20% more expensive than Tampa. So we are aslo flying to Tampa and renting a car.

Can't wait!! Will be honing in on event logistics this weekend... but it is shaping up to be a GREAT event!

Officially have the hotel booked for the girls and I!!! We will be coming in on Thursday the 8th- still planning on flying into Tampa and renting a car, and going to the Dali Museum on the 9th. Anyone there that early is welcome to come along!

Everything is set- flights, room, car- now all we need is October! The Lido Mangroves are very near by the hotel- thinking of getting some kayaking in!

We arrive late on the 9th, and will get to explore a bit of the Sarasota area on the 11th and 12th.

We are staying at a midgrade hotel about 10 min away, just could not do the $200/night this year but at least we have confirmed reservations and Neal will be coming with me .
