Tank Shape?

I am planning on getting a bimac octopus one day. It will be some years before I do so but I am researching and planning in the meantime.

The question I have right now is in regards to tank shape.

With fish it seems they prefer more length than height.

Does octopus prefer longer, taller, wider or does it matter at all?

Although I can't speak specifically to dimensions (I've never had a tank), they are benthic (i.e., bottom dwellers), so they'll definitely want the wider room to roam / explore on occasion.

My ruby octopus never spent any time in the top third of the tank. It’s was huge, a 300 gallon tank. He did explore the whole bottom of the 8 foot long tank.
