Surprise! It's a Mimic!

Sad to report that she died a couple of days ago. Senescence had in fact kicked in and the warning signs were very similar to other octopuses. I never witnessed any eggs, however, which I thought would have happened.

Overall I would consider myself very lucky to have gotten in a healthy specimen and to have had her for as long as I did. Nearly 3 months for a species that only lives for 9 months that arrived at my home fully grown means that I count this as a success story in terms of time spent with a mimic.
