I live near the beach in New Jersey and was wondering if i could use this sand in a tank with an octopus or other fish that are from more tropical areas than where i live.
The sand probably has things you don't want to be in your tank in it. If you are determined to use it, rinse it out thoroughly with fresh water before you add it to your tank. You would be better off buying aragonite from your LFS. It is not worth the hassle or risk IMO.
