This is legitimate!
Several years ago I preserved a specimen of Architeuthis dux for a Tauranga-based (New Zealand) fishing company.
Several days ago I spoke with the manager and he indicated he was considering selling it.
It is in very good condition, but lacks the two long tentacles. It is a fully mature female.
If anyone is seriously in the market for such a specimen then please pm me with full contact details and I will forward these directly to the fishing company, with whom you will deal thereafter.
