So this semester I am studying with Dr. Franklyn Tan Te, a super cool professor that specializes in Coral propagation and studied in Hawaii. Te has been a college professor for the last 25 years, but like most professors he is involved in many aspect of the Marine Biology world. After the Disaster in 2004 in the Indian ocean Dr. Te was one of a group of PHDs invited to travel to the region. The purpose of the trip was to collected and classify all the dead sea life that washed up on shore of which were many species that to this day have still gone unidentified. So in class today he was telling us about his trip and all the unique new species discovered and one specimen is a squid. This squid is still unidentified.
Can any one identify it? Is it a new species? if it is lets name it!....the most unique aspect of this squid is the eye, it's shaped like a star.
