so it looks like i have a "pregnant" pom pom crab in a 3gal nano reef. do crabs produce eggs even if they are no males around? im assuming so. pretty sure that is the only pom pom in the tank. :lol: should i do anything? will it be ok for the tank for the eggs to be released in there? thanks.

edit: seems to be common. a lot of google results.

It will certainly be interesting to see if they hatch and survive. Do you have a fish in there? If not, you might have a chance. Be sure to take pictures and post them.
 
no fish. just that pom pom, blue leg hermit, tiger pistol shrimp, sexy shrimp, and whatever else happens to be in there.
 
The shrimp may eat the babies or eggs (depending upon how long they stay with the mother) and the little ones may end up in your filter but I can't think of any other issue.
