ISSUE #182 -- TONMO turns 20!
TONMO Forum Sponsor:'s Partner Forum

Hi tonmo,

Happy Anniversary to us! Twenty years ago on this very day, I turned my "" domain into an acronym. In 1997 or so, I had registered to experiment with HTML and website management ("tonmo" is a portmanteu of my name, Tony Morelli, and has long been my username). By 2000, I decided I wanted my website to provide information about something other than myself... something I was interested in, could build a community around, and maintain solid position in search engines. So, I turned into The Octopus News Magazine Online. Yes, it's odd to use the word "the" in an acronym, but here we are, 20 years later. Quickly, we expanded our scope to include all things cephy, and the ink flowed from that point onward. There is much more to this story, but we've got a LOT to cover today, so let's get to it... If you'd like to wish us a Happy Anniversary (a celebration which YOU are part of), there's a thread for that:
· [Featured]: - 20th Anniversary!!

Oh, and there's an image for that as well - thanks to DWhatley for the creative!
· TONMO at 20

ICYMI -- unfortunately, COVID19 has proved to be too disruptive to our planning, and so TONMOCON VIII is postponed. We want an uncompromised event -- we are thinking late 2021 or maybe 2022, and yes, we still plan to have it at MBL, in Woods Hole, MA. Look at it this way... more time to plan your trip! More info:
· TONMOCON VIII - Postponed :-/

· [Octopus]: Odo
· [Octopus]: Kestra
· [Octopus]: Kraky my Octopus
· [Octopus]: Inky the Octopus hummelincki
· [Octopus]: O. Briareus - Unwitting Ichthyologist at the Florida Museum
