My first ceph tank.

Granite is now in its home. I created a ledge around it so that I can buy a couple of bar stools and make it where I can sit and drink my coffee in the morning.

I'd like to source a food supplier so that I can reasonably offer this to TONMO members going forward. I will be working on that.... Meanwhile, I hope others here can help!
Check out this site, it looks promising! I know it all comes from a different coast but bulk live green crabs might just be my answer.

@tonmo , I emailed them and for $120 you can get 10lbs, and he said there are 5-10 per lb so you get 50-100 for that price. Sounds like they have them year round due to them being invasive in there area. They also appear to do wholesale, so might be a good source for any program you might be trying to set up.

Made some slower progress this weekend, I got the glass cleaned, polished, and the new vinyl on the back panel. I made an attempt at the scratches but crap would that take forever to sand out, so I ultimately decided that I can live with some of them. The polishing worked out most of the finer scratches and the water stains.

I also started to build the frame for the front of the stand, I'm building it out of white ash and will whitewash it to give it a little bit of a farmhouse look. The doors will have a whitewashed frame with barnwood panels. My clamps were just a little short, so I had to improvise.

I'm going to be putting vents on both of the side panels since I have the chiller in there so that I can get good air exchange, I'll probably also mount a fan to help push fresh air through. I am making these custom octopus vent covers just to be a little different.

I also finished getting the silicone off the overflow, the plastic weir, and the bulkheads they are siliconed in for red seas plumbing. Next weekend the tank goes back together!

I got all the main seems siliconed today. I have a little clean up to do since working with black silicone sucks. I'll get pictures after I have it all cleaned up. I've also been working on the doors for the front of the stand.

I can’t believe I haven’t seen this yet! This is such a cool build I love the granite!! I love my Red Sea tanks… the glass thickness is my favorite!
Thanks! I always like the build as much as the running system. I like using my creativity to try to make something beautiful that anyone would want in their home. 1-2 more weeks and this system will be wet and running.

So fun!! I bought my octopus tank around this time last year and I actually didn’t fill it for so long because I kept having things come up!! You seem to be pushing through quickly! What equipment are you using on your tank? Light brands and such I used Red Sea lights… and have them dimmed quite a bit!!

I have a maxspect jump 10k return pump, a eshopps s300 skimmer, a 1/4hp JBJ chiller, Tunze osmolator 3 ATO, for lights I was going to do these pendant lights with these bulbs. (See links). I want to try to grow kelp and possibly some other macros so I'm hoping these will do the trick. I started this project around July last year and over the last 2 months or so have really started pushing. My original goal was to have it running by the end of the year, so I'm running a little behind schedule.
