This video includs some clips of octopus encountered at Madrona Point on November 17, 2013. There are several rockfish species, the red ones are yelloweye rockfish (locals call the red snapper). The juvenile yelloweye rockfish have distinct white stripes on a darker red, as they mature they become more dark orange. I often see yelloweye rockfish close to octopus dens, especially medium sized octopus.

Madrona Point is a great shore dive for visiting divers wishing to observe pacific giant octopus up close.
