Let's play... 6 degrees to a ceph!

Tintenfisch,

Sorry, but I really can't stand Madonna. Irrational disdain for pop-stars, you know how it is.

Jelly Roll Morton

Deep breath:

Jelly Roll Morton -> played with -> Zutty Singleton
Zutty Singleton -> acted in Stormy Weather w/ -> Cab Calloway
Cab Calloway -> acted in Blues Brothers w/ -> Carrie Fisher
Carrie Fisher -> appeared in Star Wars w/ -> garbage compactor Ceph

:heee:

And now, ladies & gentlemen, for my next act, Phil Collins in less than 3:

Phil Collins -> appeared in audience of Hard Day's Night w/ -> The Beatles
The Beatles -> sang -> do I even gotta say?

jetlee,

That is awfully damn impressive, Sir. When I invoked Mr. Morton's name, it was only as a response to Tintenfisch's nickname for me ("Jelly Man"). I never intended to relate Mr. Morton to a cephalopod, let alone the dreaded dianoga.

Well done.

Or (this one's for Tani):

....Dogma - Alan Rickman (or Linda Fiorentino, to link to MIB)
Rickman - Galaxy Quest - those squid things

Why thank you Kat, I'm glad somebody here remembers that Steve-O' isn't the only one around with, shall we say, needs.

I'm very impressed with the flood of Six Degrees contributions and answers we're getting now. Madonna joke.... :roflmao: Apropos of nothing, here's one I heard back when they were popular:

  • - What's the difference between Charlie Chaplin and Madonna?

    - The Little Tramp is one of the most beloved characters in entertainment history; Charlie Chaplin is an old-time movie comic.
:P (Don't blame me, I didn't write it.)

May I ask, how did Clem earn the "Jelly Man" title? Sounds intriguing!

Many thanks. Not that I had any help on that one. Nope!

(Lee starts to smell fire & brimstone)

Ack! Ok! I confess! I had some e-help! I just wanted to see if it could be done!

Ahh. My conscience is clean once again. :heee:

Tani,

You asked how Clem became "Jelly man". He's afraid of jellyfish, as perhaps we all should be. But Clem avoids them more than most, and he's probably better off for it. I got stung twice this summer because I'm not enough afraid of them and went right back in. :bonk:

We should go to Chinatown to eat them, if you are up for the trip!

You refer to the Freddie Prinze Jr. masterpiece?

Brittany Murphy (I think she was in it, never actually saw the movie)
to Michael Douglas in "Don't Say a Word"
to Kirk Douglas in "It Runs in the Family"
to "20000 Leagues"

Argh, got kicked off while posting.

Here goes another:

Summer Catch
Brittany Murphy > Clueless (Tai Fraiser) > Breckin Meyer (Travis Birkenstock)
Meyer > Rat Race (Nick Shaffer) > Rowan Atkinson (Enrico Pollini)
Atkinson > Black Adder > Tony Robinson (Baldrick) who says ‘This is my magnificent octopus’ meaning magnum opus. :octopus:

:heee:

Nope, I was meaning

Wilder Valderramma - Ashton Kutcher That 70's Show
Ashton Kutcher - Brittany Murphy Just Married
Brittany Murphy does the voice of Luanne in King of the Hill
Luanne has a little pink octopus puppet in her Manger Babies show.

:heee:

"And with evolution, the octopus lost the nostrils and took on the look we know today." Or somesuch. I've seen it half a dozen times, but not recently.
