Hi can you please id this octopus. He comes from the pacific . Mantle size is about 2-3 inches, tentacles are about 7 inches . Went from brown to motted . Size of small baseball in ball. Thank you
The pictures don't give much of a clue. The general coloration and location suggest something in the Abdopus complex but the arms are way too short (are you sure the arms are only twice the mantle length? That is particularly short for most octos) for aculeatus. Arms are often bitten off but usually only one or two are shortened at a time.
