actually they are just neoprene gloves that come up to my elbows. im highly allergic to shellfish (go figure...) so i wear them anytime im handfeeding the octo. that way if for some reason it decides to bite ill be ok and wont have to go to the emergency room. theres no telling what would happen if i were injected with venom from a shellfish
