Well if he is a Vulgaris then I would guess 4-5 months. Hard to tell with out a size reference. Someone else took a pic with a quarter up against a tank which helped a lot. 32g is not going to be big enough. Just so you get an idea of what you might have check out "Into Casper" You will see that when I got this octo I thought it was a full grown dwarf like a Merc. But the activity and how much she eat made me think other. When I got Casper she was quit small but grew extremely fast. I got her Oct 10 of this past year. She is in a 93g cube and just bought a 6' 150 system because she has outgrown the 93g cube.
Now D will "I think" agree that Caspers growth has been crazy fast and she is larger now then others Vulgaris ever got. "some stay smaller then others" Check out "Little Bit" and you will see one that didn't grow to be so big. Again all of this is just a guess because we are not sure its a Vulgaris. Mind you if it is you have one of the most sought after octos in the hobby because they are very outgoing and are out during the day.

I was going to post a newer pic for you but ever since I started streaming live vid of Casper I have not been posting pics and I am at work so I don't have any with me. What I can tell you is she reaches 48" with ease and I have only had her for 6 months. In my thread there are links to see Casper live if you want to see her size now.

I have a 110 gallon reef tank would that work? I would have take fish out and remove my torch coarl and maybe others. My husband won't be too happy if I get one more tank, I have 3 now. I may up grade when he gets bigger. His body is only 2" and about 10" from tentacles across. He does have great personality!

The 110 should work. If he is one that stayed small to med. Seems the standered for a vulgaris is a 150 but others have used as small as a 70g so it depends on how big and fast he grows. For the moment I am sure the 32 is fine. Also having corals with an octo is fine. There are a few corals that don't work. I know palys don't. I think there is a list here somewhere. D might know. I like having corals with an octo. Seems to make them show more colors as the try to blend in

Ok cool, one more question. Should take the Kroalia 425 circulation and wave pump out. He gets on it hangs and then trys to rip from of the glass. I noticed he was sticking his tentacles in there. He's done it twice today. Im trying to find some kind of toy for him. I don't want him to get hurt trying take his tank apart.

That's a hard question. I don't run power heads in mine but my return pump is a monster. I know D uses some flow pumps. I think she might put a female stocking over it or something else to keep "Arms" out of the pump. I can tell that Casper would pull anything off the wall I put in there. I use a extreme mag scraper in there to keep algae off the glass I have a hard time removing it from the glass but Casper will remove it in the middle of the night and I hear the piece on the outside of the glass hit the floor. Scared me the first couple times it happened. Maybe D will have a better answer for you on that.
Also its no big deal but they are arms not tentacles. No worries I did the same thing when I started. Just info to help you out. More pics please. Really want to know if this is a Vulgaris. They used to be very common but for the last 10+ years they have not been around much so its exciting to see more
