Taxonomy of the forums needs to be updated, I think Cirroctopodidae has its own family, but throwing this here so it's on the forums at least:

Schmidt Ocean Institute came across a cirroctopus yesterday:

(standard caveat that this ID is tentative, but asked around and folks with cirroctopus experience agree that it definitely looks like one, and Schmidt Ocean Institute is currently diving in the area where they'd be observed)

Interesting @jeffday -- I'll be speaking with @GPO87 in the coming days; I'll add this to the agenda! This structure was created probably about 10 or 15 years ago, if I recall, along with a fair amount of debate / discussion amongst the experts.

At the time, we purposefully called this category of forums Ceph Species (by Family) vs. Ceph Taxonomy given all the gaps and continuous change that comes along with the latter. But even a list of ceph families requires regular maintenance, as you've highlighted here - thanks!

Hello Jeff and Tony!

Yes, I absolutely agree that these forums have become a bit out of date. I'll make an effort to update these in the near future, as I'm sure that in the last 10 or so years there have been quite a few changes. :) @jeffday , if there are any other glaringly obvious ones you notice, please flag me and I'll prioritize it. Combing through changes in cephalopod taxonomy may take a little bit, but I've been meaning to put a bit of focus on this project (and then life distracts me with shiny things).
