can any one tell me what chemicals (ph... ect) i should have in my octo tank? I am geting a baby bimac and putting it into a 50 gal tank.

:?

You must cycle your tank before putting in a baby bimac. Please read the Equipment List and the Checklist, both under Ceph Care

Cephalopod Care

Good water parameters would look something like this:
salinity 1.026
pH 8.2
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Ammonia 0

It's good to check a new tank and make sure you are 0 for copper, too.

Temperature should be in the lower seventies, or even as low as 65 degrees, but low temperatures are difficult to achieve without a chiller.

when do you plan on getting the octopus? It is advisable to have the tank running for a couple of months at least before putting one in.
