Omg I was panicking half an hour ago! I was about to feed all my tanks so I stuck my finger in bloopers shell like I do almost every night. She grabbed on but not like usual and squirted water at my finger so I took my hand out and she must have flushed this teeny baby out when she squirted at my hand, I feel so bad! I had no idea she was female let alone brooding fertile eggs! I took my hand out and saw a little dark blob come out of the small hole in the shell she usually hangs an arm out of. Once I realized what it was when it started “walking,” I freaked out! I’m ecstatic at having babies but depressed at the thought of not being able to interact with her anymore. I was able to move him out of the 10g and set him up in the critter keeper for the night so I wouldn’t lose him. I’m hoping he’s just among the first to emerge. There’s only hermits in there and they’re eating now so they shouldn’t bother any other babies that pop out. Trying to find my phone macro lens so I can get really nice clear pics of him. I’ll be getting a container of seawater at my lfs tomorrow along with a bottle of apex pods for them to hunt. Going to use the water to set up a 10 gallon for them. First two pics are of the nursery set up a few hours ago, then two different babies! They’re so cute! So glad I thought to move bloopers shell into it and put the chaeto in, they seem to like hanging in it since it’s so small and vine like. I can only hope they’ll be as interactive as she is and I’m going to miss her :sob: I’m up to 4-5 babies!

I never started a journal for her two months ago when I got her since I wasn’t sure she would live past a week

We are up to 6ish now! If I knew people to sell them to locally in a month or two, I’d definitely do that… but I’m thinking of turning my 75g into a merc community 😂 I’d think 7-8 could easily live in there, right? Lots of rocks and shells for dens

Keep me in mind if they live? I might be interested! Good luck! 😁

Up to at least 11! And saw two of them eating brine shrimp 💕 I counted out 9 then looked over to the old tank and saw one on the sand… chasing him with the net and scared another one! So luckily I was able to get those two without much trouble… got some more macro pics of one who let me play paparazzi for a few minutes 😂 and then I’m pretty sure one has made a den in this rock! Look at the tiny flash in the hole 😆 also I love how you can see the star points around their eyes already!

I was just thinking about that. Trying to figure out the best way to do it. Anyone on here that can help me with this? I have an egg that’s lying on the tank bottom and it’s alive… can I help it hatch somehow? I had two others like it that ended up dying…

I just counted 35!!! babies! 🤯 well 36 counting the one I inadvertently helped hatch 🤣 I was trying to move his egg with the feeding tweezers and instead he burst out with the shell hanging onto an arm so I tried to pull it off and he inked and swam away 😆

They’re starting to attack each other. Getting depressed about this whole thing now. If anyone in or near the Sacramento area wants to have a few to try and raise, please let me know. I don’t personally know of anyone local who could help 😩 just want to save as many as I can…

This was right after counting before helping the one in his egg

Sorry wish I was closer. Good luck
