Aquarium chillers

I have a Teco TR15, which I'm happy with. My tank is 75g, chiller set to 65 deg (room is 75 deg in summer). I might consider one size larger if I wanted the tank at 60 deg.

Oh, wow! Thank you, Tomh! I was starting to wonder if 1/2 hp would be sufficient. So, you think 1/4 to 1/3 hp will be more than sufficient? Any brand to really recommend (or to avoid like the plague)?

1/10 HP will do it comfortably. It will work efficiently also. Thanks
This is excellent to hear. I just snagged an open box essentially new 1/10 on BRS for a future 75 gal Bimac tank.

It was about 210 dollars off

Id keep an eye on that section @gregmayberry
Can someone recommend a chiller that can lower a 75 gallon tank from mid-70s down to 60°? Room stays 73° - 75°. Thanks!

EDIT: There is some on there now a little bigger unit than 1/10

I got my artica chiller open box from BRS as well! I’ve been very happy with it my house sits around 70 during the day but i turn the temperature down in the evenings to around 65. It keeps the tank at a comfortable 65 degrees for my bimac no problem. I think I have the 1/4

Thanks for the advice! I just ordered an open-box JBJ Arctica 1/4hp chiller from Bulk Reef Supply. Their 30 day return policy on open-box goods sealed the deal. That, and of course, everyone’s recommendations! Thanks to everyone for your input!!!
