remember the story about the Baculites ammonite radula being discovered with a synchrotron? it turns out that its not the only ammonoid buccal apparatus know to science. it turns out there are at least a dozen complete specimens of ammonite beaks and radulas from the mesozoic era, plus a few ceratites from the triassic and goniatites from the carboniferous. many of them are different from the filter feeding apparatus of Baculites.
