well, you could try buying ammonia removing blocks from a fish shop but the easiest quickest way is to do a water change, no more than 25% at a time though...
thanks i think ive got it fairly much under control now, i put some zeolite in which is supposed to absorb ammonia.
thankfully i dont have an octo in there yet but i think that it was just some of the algae off the rocks dieying off or sumthing
