H Lunulata Mating Spermatophore Med

Blue-rings (Hapalochlaena lunulata) mating. Just above the male's hectocotylus which is inserted into the female's mantle cavity you can see a spermatophore being transported (white rod).
Beautiful photo. The other photo post you made with the Larger Pacific Striped and her soon to be brood is absolutely stunning. Were these photographed from your personal aquariums?
 
@Neogonodactylus Do we know if there is a specific receptor that the male tries to find inside the mantle or is just insertion into the opening all he attempts?
